The event was organized as a meeting of doctoral students with a relation to the Institute of Mathematics and to the Institute of Computer Science of the Czech Academy of Sciences. The supervisors and other researches from the institutes were warmly invited too.

As some of the participation were non-czech speakers, the event language was English.

Program consisted of participants' presentations, an invited talk and a short walk to Hluboká chateau.

Students' presentations

The goal of the event is to help participants with improving their presentation skills and provide an instant feedback.

The student participants are expected to give a 20 minute talk (including a short discussion) describing one of their research results, a result they were involved in, or a result that is of crucial importance for their research.

The speakers are ask to give a motivation for their research and to set it into a wider context. The talks should be accessible for all the participants (i.e. the students of Mathematics, Logic, and Computer Science) - we expect that the talks will be such that nobody will "get lost" within the first at least 5 minutes.

After the talk and a common discussion, the audience will provide a feedback to the speaker. This will include filling an anonymous feedback form and answering several yes-no questions about the clarity of talk (such as: Did you understand everything within the first 5 minutes of the talk? Was the speaker loud enough? etc.).

Here we provide a list of general recommendation and tips for presentation.
